Chapter 7: Ultimate Visions

So after all this creative sounding rhetoric, it seems appropriate to end with what the ultimate goals and visions that the Umbrella has for the world. We see the world in a state of crisis: our institutions bankrupt and stagnant, the inhabitants unthinking and deluded, and the consequences of which are, more then ever, dangerous to our future. The Creators, in particular, oppressed and mentally sterilized for centuries, are the Umbrella’s first concern. To create the first, true, international community of enlightened paradigm changers is a necessity, if not only to preserve something of humanity which is not subject to the structural degeneration, collapse, and renewal implied by the arrival of a new era of human technology and development. Instead, we aim to create a community which will grow and adapt to the times and take the opportunities it offers, establishing, for once, Creator control over the social framework and network in which we live our lives. No doubt there will be risks, no doubt will there be sacrifices, and no doubt will we face heavy resistance, but to fight for our significance and for an ideal which is larger than ourselves is to give ourselves to the infinite, struggling for a position which is rightfully ours.
Even further, we perceive that there should be no place for Maintainers, who merely preserve a distant memory as the be-all and end-all, jealously protecting themselves from creation and evolution. True, change is a difficult thing, and new paradigms are hard to accept: that is only human. But to fight for this urge, rather than to fight against it, is to promote stagnation and oppression of innovation and creativity. The Maintainers as a force of history must be eliminated and the Creators must inherit their place as the leaders of society. After all, they are the ones who maintain the social frameworks which support the growing gap between rich and poor, reinforcing divisions between nations, and the like. Starting with one nation the dream is to eliminate Maintainer power on a mass scale, eventually bringing the entire world into line with a hidden and visible few who will, as a consequence of responsibility and necessity, guide the flock of Followers. Moving them towards becoming more active and finding their creative potential, the Creators will usher the human race into a managed period of enlightenment. Of course, that Maintainer dynamic must always exist: many individuals, after all, are happy in their unthinking lives. On a societal-biological level, it maintains a degree of stability in society to have that mental inertia. Tending to them like the children they are is our duty to them. But with Creator management, one can at least conceive of a world which is not so petty, so cruel, and so vain. Towards a more intelligent, innovative society is what seems to be our credo. So then, together, with one world under the Umbrella, a unified world, society will unknowingly flock towards their own betterment, with the Creators observing, managing, and consciously controlling. In an era when we have come to control our own genetic structure and will eventually determine our own evolution, it seems necessary and a natural course of history to take on our will over our own societal destiny.

The Umbrella will do such a thing. And in secret, they will assume the weight of the world.
